After suffering a pulmonary embolism at age 40 in tandem with life long chronic asthma deteriorating her lung capacity, April’s doctors informed her it was time to start thinking of going on disability and to stop working.

Her body of work demonstrates that she has always been on the front end of active service, challenging the status quo in order to create, deliver programs and services that help change and extend lives one day, one person at a time.

She started with herself first…and she learned how to F.L.Y. (First Love Yourself). It is through her intentional and active choice to ignite her longevity plan to Engage and FLY that she changed the course of her life after a month long hospitalization, a year of observation with a low life expectancy and a lung capacity of 65% on a good day.
